new year, same little calendars of JOY!!!

This is only a month late I know, but I decided I'm going to be sharing these little calendars of happy memories on here this year!!

I'm moving on from my year of courage and have chosen humble as my word of the year for 2019! I picked humble because my biggest prayer of the year is to become more of the women God created me to be which means allowing him to work though me. I'm praying for the humility to make myself small so he can use me in big ways!

I have chosen Mother Teresa as my saint of the year because her ability to love the people around her is something I wish I could emulate. I'm ready to walk with her throughout this year and learn about how to love people more like Jesus does.

So far 2019 is off to a pretty good start! January was a month full of so many little joys from time with family (even if that time was spent watching Blended) to sweet talks with friends!

Oddly enough I think one of my favorite memories of the month happened one Saturday morning when I went to confession. I had a really great talk with the priest and afterwards he told me that he wanted me to sit in the church and make a list of all the things God loves about me. It might sound weird to you, but I encourage everyone to do it. I find myself constantly flipping back to my list in my journal and rereading it to myself. So often I feel like we focus on our downfalls and not enough on the things He loves about us. Praying that this year I spend more time seeing myself through the Father's eyes.

I am so incredibly excited to see where 2019 takes me and even more excited to spend it with people I love!!
