a weekend in Paris !! (did I really just type that?)

On Sunday I left Paris to come “home” to London so yes that’s what my face looked like. But really I’m literally in awe 24/7 that I’m getting to have all these crazy life experiences and to say I’m thankful just feels like an understatement. I’ve learned so much about myself in these 3 short weeks and I’m excited to see what the next 5 have to offer!!

BUT enough with the sappy here’s a Paris recapy (hahah):

So we left London immediately after class on Friday on the train that goes under the English Channel to go to France!! (Cool right!!??) anyway after arriveing in Paris and taking good chunk of time to get to our hostel. we settled in and left for a quick bite before heading to bed!!

Naturally since we were in Paris we went to an Italian restaurant. (It was late cut us some slack). But dinner was great and after we walked by the canels back to the hostel!

We got up bright and early the next morning to start our Paris adventure and since we only really had one full day we were going to make the most of it!!!

We started out by climbing up Montmartre to see Sacré-Cœur!! Which was worth the climb for the view! The church itself was beautiful but the view from the top of the hill itself gave a stunning view of Paris even if it was a little foggy !!

Next we decided to make our way to the Orangerie Museum! I know what you're thinking, "Sarah thats you in front of the Louvre not a Museum". And you would be correct we got distracted by the Jardin de Tuileries and ended up here. We didn't end up going in, but hey thats just another reason to come back!!

Next we did really make our way over to the Orangerie Museum where Monet's water lilies are! They were incredible as was the rest of the museum, but we only stayed for a little because everyone was starting to get a little hangry so we went to grab a bite before we continued the rest of the days adventure!!

After a quick lunch we made our way over the the Eiffel Tower! I'm not going to sugar coat it I actually squealed when we rounded the corner and saw it! There's just something so incredible about seeing all these places you've only seen in pictures in person and I still haven't gotten of the shock yet! we took lots of pictures here, because hey its the Eiffel Tower its basically a requirement and eventually ended up eating some gelato under it!! After that we went to the park behind it and ended up taking a nap. (we'd been moving a hundred miles a minute since we woke up we needed the break! )

after our well deserved nap we made our way over to the Arc de Triomphe. I didn't even really know you could climb to the top until we started planning the trip! (ps thanks addy for all the helpful hints!!) But the view from the top was as breathtaking as the hike up the stairs !! after making our decent we went to a macaroon shop and had the best macrons I've ever tasted I'm still dreaming about them.

We then made our way to our final sunny spot of the day Notre Dame!! we missed being able to go in by a few minutes but hey like I said just another reason to come back!!! After walking around some we ended up in a French cafe for dinner where I had the best stew of my entire life! (sorry dad) but I will definitely dream of that meal for years to come it was so tasty.

After dinner we made a b line for the metro to try and get back to the Eiffel Tower for its first round of twinkling for the night, but ended up walking out of the metro station as it was ending! we grab hot chocolate and gang around for the next go round and I'm so glad we did because I can honestly say its our of the most spectacular things to see and is a memory I will gold onto forever because you really just can't capture it though a camera lens. Although I of course did try.

Our final morning kinda ended up being a train wreak because of my poor planning skills but we took the train out to the Palace of Versailles. The line to enter ended up being insanely long but we occupied ourselves with a few rounds of heads up and eventually got to go in and explore the palace!! It was BEAUTIFUL. and like I said before I love love love castles and palaces and basically anywhere that the history involved people in gorgeous dress attending fancy balls. We didn't have much time to sit and imagine what it was like because we were in a little bit of a time crunch, but it was fun to even breeze through the scenery!

Defiantly a weekend for the books!!
